Investing responsibly

Responsible investing

UniSuper gives members the opportunity to direct their investments towards companies with socially responsible practices through our socially responsible investment options. At the same time, we have made a broader commitment to socially responsible investment across all of the portfolios we manage on our members' behalf.

Socially Responsible Balanced coming soon

If you’re eligible for Investment Choice and you like directing your super investments towards companies with socially responsible practices, chances are you already know about UniSuper’s Socially Responsible High Growth option.

From 1 January 2008, we're also introducing a Socially Responsible Balanced option. It's designed for members who want socially responsible investments, but who prefer a lower risk profile than that of Socially Responsible High Growth.

Socially Responsible Balanced will comprise approximately 70% growth assets and 30% defensive assets, all of which will be selected on the basis of socially responsible criteria. Because it will initially only have one underlying investment manager, will be less diversified than the standard Balanced option when it comes to manager selection, so it will have a slightly higher risk profile.

Keep an eye on the UniSuper website from January 2008 to find out more about the new Socially Responsible Balanced option.
