Who manages them?

The total market value of UniSuper's assets as at 30 June 2007 was $24,151 million (in June 2006 it was $19,517 million). Management of approximately 91% of these assets is outsourced to external investment managers. All managers are monitored constantly and are generally reviewed in detail at least once a year. The remaining 9% of total assets is invested directly by UniSuper in a range of investments – mostly infrastructure projects.

The following links show the market value of UniSuper’s assets by asset class, including the external managers we use and the market value of the funds they manage on our behalf.


Alternative investment managers:
As at 30 June 2007, UniSuper had $2,281 million in alternative investments assets under management, compared with $1,737 as at 30 June 2006. These assets can be broken down into the following categories. (Note that we also held a State Street Global Advisors Currency Overlay as at 30 June 2007 which does not appear in the categories below, with a total portfolio value of less than $500,000.)
