An employee has chosen UniSuper – what now?
Find out what you need to do if one or more of your employees has nominated UniSuper as their chosen super fund.
Employer responsibilities
UniSuper can accept employer contributions made on behalf of an existing UniSuper member. If one of your employees is an existing UniSuper member and has nominated UniSuper as their chosen fund under Choice of Fund legislation, it’s easy to make employer contributions to UniSuper on their behalf.
Making your first employer contribution
You can make your first employer contribution to UniSuper by following these three simple steps.
- Download the Choice of Fund Contribution Schedule and complete the contribution details for each employee.
- Arrange a cheque made payable to UniSuper Limited.
- Post the completed Choice of Fund Contribution Schedule and cheque to UniSuper, Level 35, 385 Bourke Street, Melbourne VIC 3000.
A receipt will be sent to you after your first employer contribution is received.
Making ongoing employer contributions to UniSuper
You can make ongoing employer contributions to UniSuper on behalf of your employees in the following ways:
- SuperPay
- BPAY®, or
- cheque.
After the first employer contribution is received, you will be sent a SuperPay welcome pack containing your login details and a quick reference guide.

If you use SuperPay, you can choose from three payment methods:
- BPAY®
- electronic funds transfer, or
- cheque.
The default payment option for SuperPay is BPAY®. This can be altered by calling the UniSuper HelpLine on 1800 331 685.
With SuperPay, employers can make a single payment, regardless of the number of employees who have nominated UniSuper as their chosen super fund and can keep track of the payments made online.
SuperPay option 1 – BPAY®
If you choose to make contributions via BPAY®, payments will be transferred to UniSuper using your nominated financial institution’s online BPAY® process.
SuperPay BPAY® biller code: 50948

SuperPay option 2 – EFT
If you choose to make contributions by electronic funds transfer (EFT), payments will be transferred to UniSuper from your nominated financial institution account.
In order to make EFT payments you must have an Australian Payments Clearing Association (APCA) ID. which can be obtained by contacting your financial institution. Then, simply provide your APCA ID and financial institution account details to UniSuper.
SuperPay option 3 – cheque
If you prefer to make contributions by cheque, you will need to generate a receipt from SuperPay first and send this together with a cheque payable to 'UniSuper Limited' to UniSuper, Level 35, 385 Bourke Street, Melbourne VIC 3000.
Alternative contribution methods
If you would prefer not to use SuperPay, contributions can be made by cheque or BPAY®. In this instance, you must arrange for the payment of all contributions and post the details for each employee to UniSuper.
Alternative option 1 - cheque
If you choose to make contributions by cheque, follow the process used when making your first employer contribution to UniSuper (see making your first employer contribution ).
Alternative option 2 - BPAY®
If you choose to make contributions by BPAY®, payments will be transferred to UniSuper using your nominated financial institution’s online BPAY® process.
