How we measure performance
We measure the performance of our investment options in a number of different ways:
- against the investment option performance objective over the recommended investment time frame
- against our peers, and
- against market indices.
For each investment option, our performance objectives aim to exceed inflation, Consumer Price Index (CPI), by a percentage margin determined by the risk and return of each option.
For example, the return objective of our Balanced investment option over the recommended investment timeframe of 6 years is CPI + at least 3% p.a.
The performance objective and investment time frame is included in the investment snapshot for each option.
The performance of each asset class is measured against the market benchmark indices and index composites (after adjusting for fees) set out in the following table.
