External investment managers
External investment managers are selected for their complementary management styles and specialist knowledge of particular sectors or markets.
The majority of member’s assets are invested by UniSuper through external investment managers who have been selected for their specialist knowledge of particular sectors or markets.
Once appointed, the external investment managers:
- have discretion within the bounds of their specified investment guidelines to invest within their allocated sector or market
- must aim to achieve an agreed performance objective
- are monitored regularly by UniSuper’s investment team for results and performance. The external investment managers are generally interviewed at least once a year.
