Our corporate responsibility and sustainability focus
The key focus areas for our responsibility and sustainability initiatives are our investments, day-to-day operations and our sponsorship programs and partnerships.
Responsible investing and climate risk
- Managing all investment risks, where we can, including managing the environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) risks that can impact the assets we invest in on our members’ behalf.
- Integrating ESG considerations into our investment decision-making processes.
- Promoting best practice among the Australian and international companies we invest in.
- Offering members the opportunity to invest their retirement savings in sustainable investment options:
Environmental, social and corporate governance
The focus on ESG issues has intensified recently with the Banking Royal Commission and the risk of climate risk litigation. We remain committed to being a responsible investor and seek to take ESG issues into account when making investment decisions. We focus on being an active owner and engaging with companies we are invested in to ensure better ESG outcomes.
Climate risk is an issue that we have long focused on. We believe our portfolio is well positioned and the investment team continues to monitor, analyse and assess climate risk.
Our Climate risk report outlines how our members' super is exposed to the risks and opportunities of climate change, and where practical, aligns with the recommendations of the Taskforce for Climate-related Financial Disclosures.

We believe companies with good corporate behaviour make for better investments, because these companies also tend to manage other aspects of their business well.
We're an active owner who seeks to drive change in the way our investments manage and disclose ESG factors, and we use our voting rights to influence and drive improved ESG practices.
