While many firms continue to adapt to the changes to the workplace bought on by COVID-19, UniSuper, Australia’s fifth largest superannuation fund, has transitioned to a fully flexible operating model, empowering employees, and assessing performance on outcomes not hours in the office.
In recognition of its commitment to this flexibility, UniSuper has received FlexCareers’ FlexReady Certification, receiving the highest score and level of certification for any corporate or non-government employer to date.
The FlexCareers FlexReady Certification demonstrates an organisation’s genuine commitment to providing flexible work arrangements. Established in 2015 FlexCareers are leaders in diversity, flexibility, and future of work solutions across the entire employee lifecycle. The firm works with leading global organisations and corporates to offer a range of training, consulting, and certification solutions.
UniSuper is one of Australia’s largest superannuation funds and employs over 800 people working across investments, advice, technology, operations, and member services. In June 2021, UniSuper launched uFlex, an initiative focused on empowering its people to be and do their best work for members, employers, and each other.

Creating the best team to drive results for members
In July this year, UniSuper opened its award-winning fund to new members outside the higher education and research sector. With the formal addition of the FlexCareers FlexReady certification, Ms Watkins said all members would benefit from being with a superfund that focuses on striving for better.
