SuperRatings’ awards recognise the very best of the best within Australia’s superannuation industry, evaluating investment performance, fees, and member servicing to determine which funds are truly delivering for their members.

This award cements UniSuper’s position as one of Australia’s best value superannuation funds, clearly demonstrating that it is delivering on its mission of shaping a brighter future for all the thinkers, creators and investigators according to Chief Executive Officer Peter Chun.

“The timing for this accolade comes at a significant moment in the history of UniSuper, as we are now open to all Australians. As we embark on this exciting new chapter for the Fund, we will continue to build on our core strengths – our record of strong long-term investment performance* across various investment options, leadership in ESG, low fees and excellent service at every touchpoint.” Mr Chun said.

SuperRating’s Executive Director, Kirby Rappel, said that UniSuper’s competitive fees and commitment to member education stood out from the rest.

“Competition has continued to intensify across the industry and UniSuper was a standout in SuperRatings’ assessment of funds this year. We believe the best funds must not only provide members with strong performance and competitive fees but that additional areas such as access to advice services and member education can significantly improve members’ ultimate retirement outcomes.
“UniSuper truly embodies these characteristics and we are pleased to announce the fund is our Fund of the Year for 2022.” Mr Rappell said.

UniSuper’s CEO, Peter Chun, added that winning the award is a great affirmation for the direction that UniSuper is taking.

“We are tremendously proud to have won Fund of the Year 2022, at a time when the industry is undergoing fundamental change and becoming more competitive, it is great to see that our efforts to always work in our members best financial interests are being rewarded.
“As we grow and scale as a public offer Fund, we will continue to innovate on behalf of our members. This award is a great milestone along the way, but we believe there is much more in store for UniSuper and our members in the future,” Mr Chun said.

UniSuper was also a finalist in the MySuper of the Year, MyChoice Super of the Year, Pension of the Year, Career Fund of the Year and Net Benefit Award categories. The Fund was also recognised as Pension Fund of the Year 2021 by Chant West and Fund of the Year 2021 by Super Review.
