UniSuper has continued its stellar year of industry award wins, after we were last night named Pension Fund of the Year by Australia’s most respected independent research provider, SuperRatings.
Celebrating the highest achieving funds within Australia’s superannuation industry, SuperRatings review and rate more than 500 choice, MySuper and Pension products and seek to recognise the best of the best.
Winning Pension Fund of the Year demonstrates the value-for-money and flexible product offering we provide for our retirees.
“As the baby boomers retire, we are seeing a growing number of our members transitioning into retirement. People’s needs and priorities change once they retire,” said Chief Executive Officer Kevin O’Sullivan.
“Our focus is to deliver quality pension products with features and benefits our members value, and which provide the flexibility needed during the retirement stage, while still offering competitive fees, strong investment returns and of course, access to our education seminars and advice offering”, he said.
While we never set out to win industry awards, winning does not come about by accident. It is a reflection of the hard work and commitment from everyone across the entire UniSuper team.
“Ultimately, what matters most to our members is not the awards we’ve won, but what’s in their pocket come retirement. We’re always working to improve the UniSuper experience for our retirees and this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of UniSuper staff to ensuring we are successful in achieving this goal.”
UniSuper’s strong investment performance was also acknowledged last night, winning the SR50 award for both the Balanced and Capital Stable options.
Our position as one of the best performing superannuation funds in the country has undeniably been cemented. In the past year UniSuper has also won the 2016 and 2015 Chant West Super Fund of the Year awards, the 2016 Conexus Super Fund of the Year and the SuperReview BNP Paribas Super Fund of the Year. These awards are in addition to the 2015 Chant West Best Fund: Investments, the Consumer Choice Award, Pension Deluxe Choice Award and Chief Operating Officer of the Year, as part of the 2015 Rainmaker Selecting Super Awards. One of our trustee directors was awarded Trustee Director of the Year in the 2015 Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees Awards for Excellence and two staff members took out Women in Financial Services Awards.
