For the fourth year in a row, UniSuper proudly presented the annual Australian Financial Review Higher Education Awards at a gala dinner in Melbourne on Tuesday 28 August.
The awards recognise the achievements of universities, higher education providers and individuals across a range of areas demonstrating excellence in the sector.
UniSuper also sponsored the Lifetime Achievement Award recognising an individual with more than 25 years’ experience in higher education who has made an outstanding contribution to the sector.
Professor Glyn Davis was unanimously selected by judges as the winner of this year’s achievement. Professor Davis finishes up at Melbourne University in October after 13 years running the university, during which time, he elevated its position on the Shanghai Ranking of global universities from 92 in 2013 to 38 this year. Professor Davis has also been an advocate for freeing up universities, introducing more diversity in specialisation and promoting Australia as a leader in research.
