Life Events cover and Salary Increase cover provide straightforward processes for you to increase your insurance cover during a range of life’s major events.
Life Events cover
Provided you meet certain criteria and already have Death and/or Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD) cover through UniSuper, you may be eligible to increase your level of Death and/or TPD cover by applying for Life Events cover—all without having to provide medical evidence.
Members under age 55 can apply to increase their Death and/or TPD cover due to a life event in the following circumstances:
* 90 days from the date of settlement.
||Evidence required with your application within 90 days of the event
|Purchasing a home for your permanent residence and taking out a mortgage
- Certified mortgage documents*
- Certified marriage certificate
|Giving birth or adopting a child
- Certified birth certificate or adoption papers
|Commencing a de facto relationship
- Statutory declaration form
|Divorcing or terminating a de facto relationship
One of the following:
- For legal marriages: Divorce orders
- For de facto: Statutory declaration form
|Death of a spouse, including de facto
|Dependent child starting tertiary education
- Enrolment details or acceptance letter from school

Salary Increase cover
If your salary has increased and you have Income Protection cover through your UniSuper membership, you may be wondering whether to apply to increase your Income Protection cover. With Salary Increase cover, you may be eligible increase your Income Protection cover by one unit—subject to the maximum cover limit—with limited underwriting.
